The Berklee Experience

When I first made the decision to apply to Berklee College of Music, I had a lot of questions running through my mind-- "What's the audition like?", "Will it teach me about the music business?", "What will I learn there?"-- just to name a few of the many. I read through student reviews, looked up videos, searched the net for hours and hours, but I couldn't find one reliable, credible source for all things Berklee. Berklee's official site has some information, but it doesn't have an insider's account. So I decided to make my own.

What makes my experience different:
Berklee is the third college I will be attending, so I will be able to make comparisons that others can't. The first school I attended was Trinity University, a private liberal arts school; the second was University of North Texas, which is known worldwide for its rigorous music program. I studied music at both of these schools, so I hope to create some perspective for any other musicians who are trying to work out the pros and cons of the decision.

The purpose of this section of Musicians-Make-It.com is to provide prospective Berklee students with the information they are looking for, whether that may mean preparing for the audition process, or just making the decision to apply for the first place. You can't ever do too much research (especially when you are going to be paying over $30,000 dollars a year to attend), and you need to make sure that Berklee is the right place for you before you spend all that time going through the long application (seriously...it's really long, and it costs $150) and the audition process.

Or, you might just be so excited about it that you want to learn more-- after I applied, I wanted to learn everything I could about this amazing school.

So here it is: The Berklee Experience.
